This page covers the two types of scholarships offered for the Human Rights Conference:

  1. full travel and registration scholarships
  2. registration only scholarships

Netherlands Fund

The Kingdom of the Netherlands has provided funding for a limited number of full travel and registration scholarships for participants from Pacific Island nations to attend the�2nd Asia Pacific Outgames Human Rights Conference.

Scholarships cover:

  • Return Airfares to Wellington from the applicant?s country of residence
  • Accommodation in Wellington while attending the Outgames Conference
  • Meal Allowance for breakfast and dinner while attending the Outgames Conference
  • Registration for the Outgames Conference

Wellington 2011 will arrange and pay for all travel and accommodation Accommodation will be provided at the Ibis Hotel which is a short walk from the conference venue Accommodation will be provided from Tuesday 15th March until Sunday 20th March Included with the accommodation will be breakfast and dinner at the hotel Lunch is provided for the three days of conference Any extra nights of accommodation and meals will be the responsibility of the individual.

Scholarship winners will still be responsible for paying the Outgames Participation Fee (NZD $89) Registration and payment can be done on line at the Wellington Outgames website https://wellingtonoutgames.com/login

Eligibility

To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must meet all the following criteria:

1��������� Be a Pacific Island nation citizen and currently resident in a Pacific Island country
2��������� Be actively involved in LGBTI human rights or community development work in a Pacific Island country
3��������� Have the support of a LGBTI or human rights organisation in your country to attend the conference

Condition

The scholarships are specifically for those attending the Human Rights Conference programme of the�2nd Asia Pacific Outgames so it is a requirement that winners attend the conference programme The scholarships are not available for those attending just the Sports or Arts & Culture programmes of the Outgames

Application Process

All applicants must submit their application using the Netherlands Fund Application Form which is downloadable from this page. �Applications not using this form will not be considered. The completed form should be sent electronically to Barry Taylor, Conference Convenor.

Applications close on 31 December 2010 Applicants will be notified of a decision by 15th January 2011

Wellington 2011 is providing a limited number of scholarships to cover the registration fees for attendance at the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames Human Rights Conference.

�To apply for a registration scholarship, people need to submit a brief written application providing information on the following three points:

  • your background experience in human rights or community action with LGBTI people
  • what you hope to get from participating in the conference
  • your ability to implement in your work the knowledge gained� from your participation at the conference for the betterment of GLBTI peoples
