Football (Soccer) is one of the confirmed sports that will be held at the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames.

Venue

The venue for football is Te Whaea Park, Hutchinson Road in Newtown. It is a 5 minute drive from central Wellington, and is easily accessible by public transport. The venue has an artificial surface.


Categories and Divisions

Women?s: 5-8 registered players in a team with 5 players per team on the field at any one time.  Rolling substitutes are allowed:

Division I:  5-a-side

Men?s:  5-8 registered players in a team with 5 players per team on the field at any one time.  Rolling substitutes are allowed:

Division 1:  5-a-side

Competition

All games will be played according to the rules of the International Gay and Lesbian Football Association (IGLFA) www.iglfa.org

The length of games played and the format of the competition will be advised closer to the event time and will depend on the number of teams registered.

Equipment

All players must bring football boots suitable for an artificial pitch (soft mould boots or trainers) and shin pads.  All teams must bring a dark and light jersey with clearly identifiable player numbers on the back.

Referee Requirement

Each team will be expected to perform referee duties for the preliminary rounds of play.  A referee duties draw will be provided to each team prior to the start of competition.  Independent referees will be provided for finals.

Dates

There is a regional grading competition on the Sunday for Women in Wellington so we have moved their part of the competition to Monday and Tuesday only.

Sunday 13 March 2011 9am-6pm (Teams Practice Day)
Monday 14 March 2011 8am-3.30pm (Men's and Women's competition)
Tuesday 15 March 2011 8am-5.30pm (Men's and Women's competition; Finals in the afternoon)
