Sports / Squash

Squash is one of the confirmed sports that will be held at the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames.

Club Kelburn, situated near Victoria University in the western hills overlooking the city, has 10 squash courts and a pro shop (which sells a variety of drinks and snacks). The courts are a 10 minute walk (uphill) from the city centre or via regular bus routes, but recommend to walk.

The tournament will be divided into 3 levels/grades for both men and women:

  • A Grade (Competitive) Play regularly at a club or have done so and are/were a graded player. Skill level = above average. Australia A Grade to State Level, New Zealand C to A Grades.
  • B Grade (Social) Skill level = average. Australia B and below, New Zealand D and below.
  • C Grade (Novice) Skill level= Entry level. Just for fun, have had little experience before.

Match format

The tournament will be structured as a round robin event. Medals will be awarded gold, silver and bronze per grade. Participants can expect to play a minimum of three games.
