Ten pin bowling is one of the confirmed sports that will be held at the 2nd AsiaPacific Outgames.

Venue

Strike Entertainment Centre is Wellingtons newest Ten pin bowling centre, with full bar and restaurant, as well as full tournament conditions available.

Transportation

Strike is located close to the Petone Railway Station, which is a 12 minute train ride from Wellington Central Station. See train timetable

Competition

There will be two divisions in the ten pin bowling competition:

  1. League Division - Open to bowlers who have an established league or tournament level handicap (minimum of 21 games). The leagues and tournaments do not necessarily have to have been sanctioned but there must be verifiable records of all bowlers participating; their scores, number of games etc.
  2. Social Division - open to bowlers who do not play in leagues or tournaments and have not done so since September 2008, or those players who do not have an established handicap or average.

Match format

The League Division will consist of 3 events:

  • Singles
  • Doubles (any gender mix)
  • Teams of 4 (any gender mix)

All events will be calculated on the scratch score, plus handicap, achieved by a bowler in the qualifying rounds. This includes singles, doubles and team events. A women's single and doubles tournament will be played if we have sufficient registrations.

The Social Division will be a scratch event with no grades and will have the following events:

  • Men's singles and Women's singles
  • Doubles (any gender mix)
  • Teams of 3 (any gender mix)
